slate roof cleaning

Got this opportunity to wash this roof.

I've already bid it and explained to the customer that the mold has to be killed first then rinsed off.

I told the customer how I was going to stay off the slate roof...

I used the "c" word (chemicals) (that, looking back, I shouldnt have done)

I also told him that it may not come off completely. That I would apply the chems a second time and rinse no extra charge.

He said he was going to call me back in a couple of days. Well see what happens.

Here is a pic of the house. The job is washing the asphault in the front and the slate in the front.

Hey Micheal, it's Rey from Henry's (that asian guy who hangs out at Sunbrite Supply). In my experiance, it's best with a very low pressure rinse and a full strength concentration of cleaner (approx. 6-12% sodium hypoclorite, very light surfactant). Normally I would use a ladder with the gun aimed at a downward angle. Usually, application of cleaners only do not give the client the results they desire. A slate substrate on the mansford roof would be ideal as walking on slate roofing would be problamatic. An asphalt substrate is much easier(and safer) to work with. I suggest a white tip rated for your machine.

For that you just need to use a ladder for cleaning the slate roof. If it is too sloppy you have to spray it downward to avoid slipping. I have a friend of mine who had a slate roof and it is really not that easy to do. Roofers
