Default Power washing training

I am looking in to starting a power washing company. I live in Central Indiana. What do you think about paying a CD on starting the business? $50. Do you think it is a good deal? Do you think Central Indiana is a good place to start a business?

Hey,

Personally I haven't seen many cd's or books on the internet, I would check into the PWNA they have all kinds of courses that may help you.

On the PWNA website they mention a fall technical seminar that I am thinking about going to. Is anyone else going and how are the classes?

Default PWNA Traing- is it worth it?

Up until now I have done almost all residential work. It is a good place to start and I have learned a lot. There is a ton of information available online and I was able to offer more services the more I read. I found that I could read manuals and books and then apply the information step-by-step out on the jobs. This is the cheapest method that I am aware of to get trained up without completely reinventing the wheel.

On the other hand, if you can afford it, formal training is a much faster way to learn. PWNA certificaton would help to calm customers fears and bring more crediability to your business. I have not yet had any training from them but if business picks up I may choose to become certified.

I am particularily interested in waste water recovery and good enviornmental practices. This would bring more crediability to my business and let me bid on the higher paying jobs. Cleaning houses is great but hospitals pay more!

Has anyone out there had any PWNA training yet? $400 for a one day seminar is a bit steep for me at this point. I would like to hear what other people think first.
